Because there is no textbook, I will be generating a lot of handouts. You will need a folder to store these. We will have random folder checks that are worth points toward your final grade so get one immediately and be prepared to keep it up to date.
Important: This is a theory class so you will not be playing any musical instruments in class on a daily basis. Your final project will be to compose a piece of music that can be sung and/or played by a group of musicians and we will perform those pieces in class at the end of the semester.
Start reviewing your notation skills now. It is required that you are able to read music notation because all skills will build on your music reading and writing skills.
