Chickenpox and shingles

Chicken pox is usually a childhood infection involving typical blisters and fever. Herpes zoster or shingles occurs later (in adulthood) in those who already had the varicella infection. Shingles often involves a rash along a single dermatome on one side of the body accompanied by severe pain.
