Is it possible to teach motivation?? Please comment on your reaction to the meeting at HCHS on the 29th:
- Met expectations
- Enough sharing
- Saw something I didn't know before
- Got info on HCHS math program
- Great to meet colleagues from different educational situations
- Wish we could have talked more
- Wished we could have talked about...
- Talked too much about...
- Would be a good idea to get back together in...

Ask a question about content, procedure, or concept in mathematics. Could include inquiries about how we teach some item in our programs. Eg., how do we teach reducing rational expressions to lowest terms? How do we teach adding rational expressions? Why is it necessary to reduce rational expressions to lowest terms? How do we progress from teaching area of rectangles to teaching volume of rectangular prisms? Is the most important understanding of slope the change in y over the change in x?
Inquire about a former student.
Let us know what you think about some aspect of our program.
Ask if we have found some resources (online or otherwise) for helping students understand some concept.
Questions that do not follow from other posted questions might go into a new post.
Questions or comments arising from a post or comment could be further comments.
Someone from our department should respond in a day or two.....we (at HCHS) will all be alerted whenever a new post or comment is made. Who knows? These may turn into discussions...
